    In this tutorial you will learn how to create a very unique background effect for using in your signatures and header backgrounds. The end result is a very abstract result that works great with many alternative designs and themes.
    Here is an example of what we will be creating throughout this tutorial:

    Step 8.)
    Select and merge all of the arrow layers we have just created.
    On Photoshop 7:
    Click on the "Create folder Icon" in the bottom right hand corner of your layer palette:

    Click and drag each of the circle layers into the folder.
    Once these layers are placed into the layers, click on the folder layer to select it and press CTRL+ E on your keyboard to merge these layers into one single layer.

    On Photoshop CS(2):
    Hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard, and click each of the circle layers once to select them. Once they are all selected press CTRL+ E on your keyboard to merge all of these layers together.

    Press CTRL+ J on your keyboard to duplicate this layer.

    Go to Edit->Transform->Flip Horizontally:


    Result:






    Step 9.)
    Change the Blending Mode of this layer to "Hard Light":

    Step 10.)
    Press CTRL + E on your keyboard to merge both of these layers together.

    Press CTRL + T on your keyboard to open up the Free Transform Tool.

    Place your Cursor near the top right corner node (box). While holding down the SHIFT key on your keyboard, click and drag the top right corner node (box) inward towards the center of the canvas to resize our triangles layer slightly as l have done here:




    Press Enter on your keyboard to finalize the transformation:






    Step 11.)
    Press CTRL+ J on your keyboard to duplicate this layer.

    To to Edit->Rotate 90 Degrees CW:


    Result:






    Step 12.)
    Change the Blending Mode of this layer to "Hard Light":


    Result:






    Step 13.)
    Select and merge all of the arrow layers.
    On Photoshop 7:
    Click on the "Create folder Icon" in the bottom right hand corner of your layer palette:

    Press CTRL + J on your keyboard to duplicate this layer.

    Go to Image->Adjustments->Invert (or press CTRL + i) to invert the colors.

    Press CTRL + T on your keyboard to get out the Free Transform Tool, place your cursor near the top right corner node/box and rotate this layer about 45 degrees as pictured here:






    Step 14.)
    Change the Blending Mode of this layer to "Luminosity":
